Bariloche
A city on the shore of Lake Nahuel Huapi and the gateway to Andean Patagonia. This week it fills up with food events, and in November it adds trail running and classic cars.

What to do
- Circuito Chico: a loop of about 60 km along Nahuel Huapi and Lake Moreno, with Cerro Campanario, Cerro López and Llao Llao Municipal Park, which has trails and picnic areas.
- Cerro Catedral: one of the largest ski resorts in Latin America, with more than 120 km of runs. In summer it is used for hiking and has restaurants and mountain huts.
- Colonia Suiza: a small Swiss-style village on the outskirts. On weekends there is a crafts fair with cheeses, beers and sweets, and several restaurants serve Patagonian lamb.
- Isla Victoria: on the lake, for walking, fishing or sea kayaking.
- Cerro Tronador: over 3,400 m, with trails, views of glaciers and lakes and the Los Alerces waterfall.
- Nahuel Huapi National Park: more than 7,000 km² for hiking, fishing, paddling and rafting.

Getting there
- Bariloche has its own airport and can also be reached by road.
- From Chile you cross through the Cardenal Samoré pass, which since 6 September is open from 8:00 to 19:00. See the página de Pasos.
Park entrance
- According to a May 2026 article, entry to Nahuel Huapi National Park costs $35,000 for non-resident foreigners and $15,000 for Argentines. The effective date is unclear: confirm with the National Parks Administration before you travel.
